OFFER DERVTECH TUNING SOFTWARE

Professional tuning software. Your business. Our calibration support.

Our Dealer Portal is designed for garages, performance specialists, mobile technicians and tuning businesses who want to offer ECU tuning without having to develop their own calibration software in-house. You deal directly with your customer and their vehicle. We provide the tuning software behind the scenes. Whether you're looking to add tuning as a completely new service or already tune vehicles and want access to DervTech developed software, getting started is relatively straightforward.

WHAT IS THE DERVTECH DEALER PORTAL?

The DervTech Dealer Portal gives approved dealers access to our online tuning file service. Using compatible tuning equipment, you read the original software from the vehicle and upload the file through our portal along with the modifications, fuel being used and exactly what you're looking to achieve. Our calibrator then modifies the software for that individual vehicle before returning the completed file ready for you to flash back onto the ECU.  You're not simply buying access to a library of generic files. Where supported, software can be tailored around the vehicle, its hardware and the customer's requirements.

WHAT DO I NEED TO GET STARTED?

You don't need a dyno or a workshop full of specialist equipment to become a dealer but you do need the correct tools to safely communicate with the vehicle.

Windows Laptop

A reliable Windows laptop is essential. This will be used to operate your ECU flashing tool, save vehicle reads, upload files to the Dervtech Dealer Portal and download completed tuning files. We strongly recommend having a laptop dedicated to tuning where possible.

ECU Flashing Tool

You will need a compatible ECU reading and writing tool.

Depending on the ECU and vehicle, communication may be carried out through:

OBD – directly through the vehicle's diagnostic port.

Bench – the ECU is removed from the vehicle and connected directly to the flashing tool without opening the ECU.

Boot – direct access to the ECU may be required for certain control units.

There are several professional tools available on the market, including platforms from manufacturers such as Alientech, Magic Motorsport and AutoTuner.

If you're completely new to tuning, speak to us before purchasing your equipment. We can advise what is most suitable for the type of vehicles you intend to work with rather than you investing in equipment you don't need.

Battery Support Unit

This is one of the most important pieces of equipment. Stable voltage is essential while communicating with and programming an ECU.

A proper regulated battery support unit should be used during reading and writing procedures. A normal battery charger isn't necessarily the same thing. Voltage dropping during an ECU write can interrupt programming and potentially cause communication or ECU recovery issues.

Bench / Boot Equipment

If you intend to work with ECUs that require bench or boot access, you will also need the appropriate cables, pin-out equipment and adapters for your chosen flashing tool. The exact equipment required depends on the tool you're using and the ECU you are working with.

Diagnostic Equipment

We strongly recommend having suitable diagnostic equipment available. Tuning should never be used to disguise an existing fault.

Before tuning a vehicle, you should be able to check for fault codes and identify obvious mechanical or electrical problems that could affect the vehicle once additional performance is requested.

WHERE CAN I BUY THE EQUIPMENT?

We recommend purchasing your equipment from us. we can offer slave or master tooling from AutoTuner

slave is tied to us and can only use our calibrations. master is usable with any calibration

WHAT VEHICLES CAN WE TUNE?

Our tuning coverage isn't limited to MINI and BMW. We can provide software for a wide range of petrol and diesel cars and vans across numerous manufacturers, including:

BMW • MINI • Volkswagen • Audi • SEAT • CUPRA • Škoda • Mercedes-Benz • Ford • Peugeot • Citroën • Vauxhall • Renault • Volvo • Land Rover • Range Rover • Jaguar • Toyota • Hyundai • Kia

…and many more.

Coverage ultimately depends on the ECU fitted to the individual vehicle and the protocol available through your chosen flashing equipment. If you're unsure whether a particular vehicle is supported, send us the vehicle details before carrying out the job and we can check it for you.

OUR SPECIALITY / MINI & BMW BOSCH ECUs

Although our dealer network covers considerably more than MINI and BMW, this is where DervTech has built a huge amount of its in-house development and experience. We specialise heavily in modern BMW and MINI Bosch engine management, particularly the Bosch ECUs used across BMW and MINI petrol and diesel platforms. Our experience isn't based purely around modifying files sent to us.

We tune these vehicles ourselves, in our own workshop, on our own dyno. Years of working with the MINI F-Series platform in particular means we've been able to develop software while seeing first hand how these cars behave on the road and dyno, how different hardware affects them and where their limitations begin to appear. That includes extensive development across B-series engines including the B38, B48 and B58, alongside diesel applications.

For businesses looking to specialise in MINI or BMW tuning, you aren't just gaining access to a file provider – you're gaining access to the experience we've developed from working with these platforms every day.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

01. APPLY FOR A DEALER ACCOUNT

Complete our dealer registration form and tell us a little about your business.

We'll ask what services you currently offer, the equipment you're using or planning to purchase, and roughly how frequently you expect to use the service.

You don't need to be sending us files every day.

We work with businesses of different sizes, from companies adding tuning as an occasional additional service through to established tuners requiring files regularly.

02. YOUR PRICING IS SET

Once your account has been approved, we'll establish your starting dealer pricing.

Our pricing is usage based.

The more regularly you use the service, the better your dealer rate can become.

This allows smaller or newer businesses to get started without needing to commit to a huge volume of files from day one while rewarding dealers who regularly use DervTech software.

03. CUSTOMER ARRIVES WITH YOU

You carry out the physical work on the vehicle.

Before tuning, the vehicle should be checked to ensure it is mechanically suitable for the additional performance being requested.

Read fault codes, check the vehicle's condition and confirm the hardware fitted.

The quality of information you give us matters.

If the vehicle has an upgraded turbo, intercooler, intake, exhaust, injectors or any other performance modifications, tell us.

04. READ THE ORIGINAL ECU SOFTWARE

Connect your chosen professional flashing tool to the vehicle.

Depending on the ECU, this may be completed through OBD or require bench/boot communication.

Read the vehicle according to the instructions provided by your tool manufacturer and save the original file securely.

Always retain an untouched copy of the vehicle's original read.

05. UPLOAD TO THE DERVTECH DEALER PORTAL

Log into your dealer account and create a new file request.

Upload the original file and provide the relevant vehicle information.

This should include:

Vehicle make and model
Engine and transmission
Fuel being used
Current hardware modifications
Requested tuning stage
Any additional requirements
Any relevant faults or information we should know

The more accurate the information supplied, the better we can understand exactly what we're working with.

06. WE CREATE THE SOFTWARE

Your file is sent to us for calibration.

We'll review the original software, vehicle specification and requested changes before preparing the modified file.

This is also where having DervTech behind you becomes particularly useful.

If something doesn't look right, we'd rather question it than blindly send a file.

07. DOWNLOAD & FLASH

Once complete, your modified file will become available through the Dealer Portal.

Download it and write it back to the vehicle using your flashing tool.

Battery support should remain connected throughout the programming procedure.

Once programming has completed, follow the appropriate ignition-cycle procedure for the vehicle and check for fault codes.

08. TEST & VERIFY

Tuning doesn't finish when the progress bar reaches 100%. The vehicle should be tested to make sure everything is operating correctly. Where appropriate, datalogging can be used to verify vehicle behaviour and allow further adjustments to be made. If something doesn't look right, send us the information. We'd rather help diagnose an issue than simply assume the software is responsible or continue pushing a vehicle that isn't behaving as expected.

WHAT SOFTWARE CAN WE PROVIDE?

Depending on the vehicle and ECU, our dealer software services can include:

  • Stage 1 tuning
  • Stage 2 tuning
  • Custom hardware calibrations
  • Turbo upgrade calibrations
  • Petrol and diesel applications
  • Datalog review and calibration revisions
  • Commercial vehicle tuning
  • Overrun, Popcorn limiter, DPF, EGR, AdBlue Solutions

Availability varies depending on the individual vehicle, ECU and local regulations.

WHAT IF I'M NEW TO TUNING?

That's absolutely fine. You don't need to become a calibrator to offer tuning through our Dealer Portal. You do however need to understand the equipment you're using and the importance of correctly identifying, reading and programming an ECU. If you're just starting out, we'd rather you ask us questions. We can help you understand what equipment you're likely to need, which reading method applies and what information we require when submitting your first jobs. As you gain experience, the process quickly becomes familiar.

ALREADY OFFER TUNING?

You can still use DervTech. Our portal isn't only designed for businesses completely new to ECU tuning. If you already have your own flashing equipment and currently purchase software elsewhere, you can register for access and use DervTech files whenever you need them. This can be particularly useful if you're looking for additional support on BMW and MINI Bosch applications where our own platform experience can be put to use.

WHY USE DERVTECH?

Software backed by real world development

We're not simply sitting behind a laptop modifying files we've never tested. DervTech operates its own workshop and 4WD rolling road, allowing us to develop, test and refine software on actual vehicles.

MINI & BMW specialists

BMW and MINI – particularly the modern Bosch ECU platforms – make up a significant part of our daily workload and development.

Custom calibration support

Where supported, we can work around the vehicle's hardware and requirements rather than treating every vehicle with the same engine as identical.

Technical support when you need it

If you encounter something unusual, you have someone to ask. That becomes particularly valuable when you're standing in front of a customer's vehicle and something doesn't behave as expected.

Pricing that grows with your business

You don't need to commit to huge file volumes immediately. Tell us how frequently you expect to use the service and we'll establish your pricing. As your usage increases, your dealer rate can improve.

YOU LOOK AFTER THE CUSTOMER. WE'LL LOOK AFTER THE SOFTWARE.

Whether you want to add ECU tuning to an existing garage, expand your performance business or access DervTech calibration support alongside the services you already offer, our Dealer Portal gives you a straightforward way to get started.
