The Peugeot 208 GTiis a cracking little hot hatch, with fantastic handling, a great sound track and really involving to drive. With the 'By Peugeot sport' packing additional handling mods, and the same stout 200/208HP the platform is crying out for more power!

Based in Manchester, UK

We are able to help with most types of upgrade, including hardware such as intercoolers, exhausts, bigger turbos and forged engine builds.

Software

We know both the MEVD17.4.2 & MEVD17.4.4 ECU's inside out. Whether you just want tuning, or you want launch control, pop and bang over run etc.. it's no problem!

Big Torque Gains in the midrange, and power up top!

The Peugeot 208 GTi comes with either a Euro V compliant 200bhp engine (EP6CDTX), or the later 208bhp Euro VI compliant engine (EP6FDTX) - both a variation on the Prince engine co-developed by PSA Peugeot-Citroen, and BMW.

Utilising slightly different Bosch ECU’s - MEVD17.4.2 and MEVD17.4.4 respectively, the approach to tuning is similar and requires careful calibration to extract the best performance.

With a relatively small turbocharger, you can expect instantaneous response, and a massive increase in torque from software modifications alone, with a reasonable increase in engine power to boot. Stage 1 typically shows a gain of 70-80NM, and 20-30bhp.

'Stage 2' - Basic Bolt ons.

Estimated Power, Euro 5: 245-250hp, Euro 6: 250-260hp

Drop the temperatures, make more power.

The biggest downfall the engine suffers from, even in standard trim, is high intake temperatures. During testing, it isn’t uncommon to see intake temperatures exceeding 70C in stock trim whilst testing the car on the dyno. An upgraded front mounted intercooler (FMIC) help to bring intake temperatures down to around 35C on a tuned engine, allowing more ignition timing to be run enabling more power to be made.

Whilst on the subject of bolt on upgrades, the standard catalyst is quite restrictive, and fitting a sports cat can free up around 5bhp, whilst a decat pipe can free up 10bhp or more. On both variants of the engine, 250+bhp and 370NM+ is possible with these modifications, and a set of cooler spark plugs alone.

At DervTech, we can supply, fit and map these parts in on the dyno, offering an easy ‘drive-in, drive-out’ service for your convenience.

Maximum power, for the power hungry.

The sky really is the limit when it comes to pushing beyond the ‘usual’ modifications on any vehicle, the 208 GTi is no exception! We have been involved in tuning projects with bolt on turbo & manifold kits, which often give a solid, and quick responding 280HP, making an extremely quick road car.

We have also taken on a number of jobs where owners have gone crazy, with large turbos, external wastegates, coupled to methanol injection, where upwards of 350bhp was made.

In addition, we've also tuned some really special one off builds. Including big turbos, built engines, cylinder head work, and custom internal components. Some of these drag cars are making over 450bhp.
